Jessica started helping in her family’s downtown Minneapolis restaurant when she was only 11. By age 14 her lifelong career in the hospitality industry was well established. Jessica has worked at all levels of the restaurant business, from dishwasher to owner/manager. She’s had the opportunity to work for Cafe De Luca in Chicago, Para Sole Restaurant Group in Minneapolis as well as Chadwicks on Captiva Island Florida. She has owned and operated restaurants both in the United States and abroad. In addition, she spent several years as a first mate and chef on private sailboats yachts in the Caribbean. She has gained a unique education in the field of food and beverage through real life and experiences.
Stan earned his chops at the world renowned Commander's Palace in New Orleans, where he spent over two decades starting as a food runner and departing as one of the key
After Hurricane Katrina, Stan returned back to Alabama and has spent the last 15 years in restaurant management, including opening with G&G in 2014.
Stan graduated with a B.A. in Art from Auburn and is an avid painter. His watercolors adorn the walls here
at Galley & Garden.
Virgil is from Hokes Bluff, Alabama. As a son of an Air Force Chef, he was instilled with the love for food and cooking at a young age. Virgil received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Jacksonville State University in Management. He has spent most of his adult life in the restaurant industry and has worked various positions from busser to general manager. Virgil’s career has spanned many states from the Sierra Mountains of Lake Tahoe to the beaches of Captiva Island. Virgil resides in Birmingham for over 25 years and considers the Magic City his home. He believes each guest should receive great food and drink in a relaxed and fun environment. On his free time, Virgil enjoys riding his electric bicycle while savoring the spirit of the city.
A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Teri is a graduate of Samford University.
She spent nearly 15 years in the west, beginning her fine-dining career working for James Beard award winner Michael Mina. In Los Angeles, she spent five years at the awarded Patina Restaurant, headed by celebrity Chef Joachim Splichal. Now back in Birmingham, Teri joined the Galley and Garden team in 2017.
With a passion for entertaining, she loves to bring our guest’s private party visions to life.
When she is not helping others party, Teri can usually be found on a boat in the Gulf of Mexico.
Elise's education has led her on extensive travels across the world’s great wine regions. Her accreditations include some of the wine industry’s most challenging programs: the Advanced School of Service and Hospitality in Napa, California, the advanced level of the Wine and Spirits Educators Trust which she passed with merit, and the completion of the Court of Master Sommelier’s Advanced Exam. Loehr has passed two of the three portions of the Court’s Master Sommelier Diploma. She’s been featured in several magazines, including People Country & The Sommelier Journal.
In her free time, Elise regularly participates as a sommelier and lecturer for events such as the Nashville Wine Auction, the Hilton Head Island Food & Wine Festival in South Carolina, Savannah Food & Wine Festival, and the Sandestin Wine Festival in Florida.
